University Health Services currently
bills most medical plans and encourages all students
to maintain adequate healthcare coverage.
UHS clinicians are currently in the process of becoming
a preferred provider on many of the larger insurance
panels. The Health Center will attempt to
bill claims as an out-of-network provider for all
other insurance plans.
If an insurance carrier denies payment,
the patient's bursar account will be billed at the
"Self Pay" fee schedule. This fee
schedule provides reduced prices to accommodate
patients without health insurance coverage at UHS.
A part of the "general fee"
in students' tuition supports the operations of
the Health Center and covers medical office visit
co-pays for patients.
UHS will refer students needing specialized treatment
or services to community health care providers or
hospitals and will assist in finding providers within
your health insurance network.
UHS will continue to provide health care services
to all eligible students regardless of their health
insurance status or ability to pay.
UHS clinicians
are currently preferred providers
with the following insurance carriers:
Aetna
Anthem/BCBS
CIGNA
Emerald Health
Humana
Medicaid
Medical Mutual
PHCS
United Health Care
