Ray Leone,
D.O., Chief University
Physician is a board certified family practice
specialist who received his training at Ohio
University. He completed his residency training
at Summa Health Systems in Akron, Ohio and has
worked at University Health Services since 1990.
He is adjunct faculty for the Kent State University
College of Nursing nurse practitioner program
and a regular clinical evaluator for the NEOUCOM
Center for Studies of Clinical Performance.
He is also a CORE instructor for the family
medicine residency program at Ohio University.
His primary interests are women's health, general
medicine and dermatology. Dr. Leone also has
additional specialized training in colposcopy,
endometrial biopsy and sexual assault.
Jennifer
D'Abreau, D.O., is a board-certified
Family Practice Specialist who received her
medical training at Ohio University. She completed
her residency training at Cuyahoga Falls General
Hospital and Akron General Medical Center. Before
coming to University Health Services in 2000,
she had a private practice and was the clinical
associate director of Westside Family Practice/
Akron General's residency program. She is an
assistant professor of clinical family medicine
at NEOUCOM and a clinical assistant professor
of family medicine at Ohio University. Dr. D'Abreau
is also a current guest lecturerer to medical
students and family practice residents at South
Pointe Hospital/Cleveland Clinic Health System.
Her primary interests are general medicine and
women's health, and she has additional specialized
training in colposcopy and sexual assault.
Stephen
Bodjanac, D.O. ,University Physician,
is board certified in Family Practice. Dr. Bodjanac
received his medical degree from the Western
University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA.
He completed his training in family medicine
at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Cuyahoga
Falls, Ohio in 2000. Dr. Bodjanac joined University
Health Services in February 2006. He also practices
family medicine and urgent care in Akron, Ohio.
His interests are in primary care, urgent care
and sports medicine.
Richard
E. Gradisek, MD, FACEP,
is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Specialist
who received his MD degree from Loyola University
in Chicago. He completed his residency in Emergency
Medicine in Grand Rapids, Michigan at spectrum
Health Systems. He has been an Emergency Physician
since 1982 at Akron General Medical Center.
He began providing general medical services
for University Health Services in 2007. He is
an Associate Clinical Instructor at Northeast
Ohio University College of Medicine and is an
instructor in the Emergency Medicine Residency
Program at Akron General Health systems. He
has additional interest and training in EMS
systems and is the Paramedic Director of Akron
Fire EMS.
Nurse Practitioners
Lori
Christopher, R.N., M.S.N, C.N.P., Nurse
Manager, received both her undergraduate and
graduate degrees from The Ohio State University.
Before coming to University Health Services
in 1999, Lori worked as a staff nurse in the
cardiac intensive care unit/step-down unit at
The Ohio State University Medical Center in
Columbus, Ohio, and in the step-down telemetry
unit at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center
in Burbank, Calif. Her special interests are
adult primary care and women's health, and she
has special training in sexual assault.
Debbie
Sellers, C.R.R.N., M.S.N, C.N.P., received
her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State
University and her graduate degree from Kent
State University. Before coming to University
Health Services, Debbie worked as a labor and
delivery nurse at Holy Family Services birthing
center in Weslaco, Texas and as a certified
rehab nurse at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland,
Ohio. She has been at University Health Services
since 2001 and her special interests are adult
primary care and women's health.
Marcia
Schulz RN, MSN, APRN-BC
received her diploma in nursing from the Aultman
Hospital School of Nursing and her MSN from
the University of Akron. She currently teaches
in the KSU College of Nursing and practices
as an adult primary care nurse practitioner
at the Townhall II Medical Clinic in Kent, OH.
Her particular area of clinical interest is
cardiovascular nursing and care of underserved
populations. She continues to pursue doctoral
studies in exercise, leisure and sport and also
to teach and practice yoga in the community.
Kathy Zartman,
MSN, CNP received her undergraduate
degrees from Youngstown State University &
The University of Akron. She received her graduate
degree from Kent State University. She specialized
in oncology and emergency nursing respectively
and worked primarily at the Kaiser Permanente
in Los Angeles. As a CNP her experience has
been as a free clinic director and primary care
with an emphasis on chronic illness. Kathy has
been with University Health Services since 2005.
Laura Sadeghi,
MSN, CNP received
her undergraduate nursing degree from The University
of Akron and her graduate degree in Pediatrics
at The University of Texas Medical Branch at
Galveston. Laura practiced as a pediatric nurse
practitioner for seven years before receiving
a post-graduate certification as an adult nurse
practitioner from The University of Massachusetts,
and has worked in a variety of pediatric and
young-adult health care settings in Massachusetts
and Texas. Prior to joining the University Health
Services staff in February 2007, Laura practiced
as a CNP at Akron Children’s Hospital in the
Outpatient Burn Clinic.
Ann Riegler
MSN, CNP has
been in the nursing profession for 14 years,
working as an adult nurse practitioner for the
last six years. She is a graduate of the University
of Akron's College of Nursing and received her
graduate degree from Kent State University.
Primary care of adults is her specialty area.
Ann has been a clinical instructor for the undergraduate
and graduate nursing programs at the University
of Akron. She joined the staff at Kent State's
University Health Services in August of 2005.
Loretta
Beule, MSN, CRNP received her undergraduate
degree from The University of Akron and her
graduate degree from Kent State University.
She has worked at the University Health Center
since 2005. She also works in Rheumatology,
and has experience in Internal Medicine and
Women's Health. She has taught for the KSU College
of Nursing as adjunct faculty.
Psychologist
Pamela
Farer-Singleton , Ph.D., is a licensed
psychologist who completed her master's and
doctoral degrees at Kent State University's
Clinical Psychology Department. She completed
an American Psychological Association (APA)
approved internship at the Cleveland VA Hospital
as well as a pre-doctoral internship through
NEOUCOM/Fallsview internship program. Dr Farer-Singleton
has served as the Chief Psychologist of Psychological
Services since March 1995 with the responsibilites
of coordinating clinical and outreach services
for Kent State students. She has served as a
part-time assistant professor providing clinical
supervision for the Department of Psychology's
clinical graduate students. Dr. Farer-Singleton
is also part of a community-initiated practice
in Akron, Ohio. Her primary clinical interests
include working with individuals suffering from
depression, anxiety and those with relationship
and parenting concerns.
Thomas
DiNardo , Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist
in the state of Ohio. He is also registered
as a psychologist with the National Register
of Health Providers. He completed his master
and doctoral work in psychology at The University
of Texas at Austin. He completed a two-year
psychological internship at the University of
Texas Counseling Center. Dr. DiNardo served
as a clinical instructor for three years at
the State University of New York at Buffalo
Dental School. Dr DiNardo had a part-time, private
psychological practice in Ohio from 1981 to
2001, providing individual psychotherapy, mental
health workshops and organizational consultation.
His primary interests in the Health Center are
providing counseling in the area of depression,
anxiety, eating disorders, building self esteem,
and relationships. He also conducts groups and
workshops for students. He has served as a psychologist
in the Health Center since 1979.
John Schell,
Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist.
He completed his undergraduate coursework at
Northwestern University and earned his master's
degree and doctorate from Kent State University.
He completed an internship through the Department
of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine
and went on to complete a two-year, postdoctoral
fellowship at Yale University Health Services
specializing in developmental psychopathology
and college mental health. Dr. Schell also has
experience working in hospital, emergency room,
community mental health and forensic settings.
Since returning from Connecticut in 2000, Dr.
Schell has served as a part-time assistant professor
in the Department of Psychology at Kent State
University and has a private practice in Stow.
His primary areas of clinical interest include
depression, anxiety, relationship issues and
eating disorders, and he has specialized training
in ADHD assessment and dialectical behavior
therapy.
Carolyn
Turner Schneiderman, Ph.D., is a licensed
clinical psychologist who received her doctorate
from the University of Louisville in Louisville,
Ky. She completed her internship at the Emory
University Counseling Center in Atlanta, Ga.
before moving to Ohio where she worked in private
practice in Canton and served as an expert witness
for the Stark County Department of Jobs and
Family Services. Dr. Schneiderman served as
a visiting instructor in the Psychology Department
at the University of Loiusville for several
years and has also worked as a clinician in
community health and nursing home settings.
Her primary interests include anxiety, personality
pathology and chronic depression.
